New Authors

I've been woefully negligent in posting about the different books I'm reading. I've found a couple of new authors that I've been reading lately. One of them is Kathy Hogan Trocheck who also writes as Mary Kay Andrews. I couldn't find a web site for Kathy Hogan Trocheck or a link from her Mary Kay Andrews page to one, but I did find this list at Amazon. I haven't read any of the Mary Kay Andrews books, but something tells me I'm in for a treat. Writing as Kathy Hogan Trocheck, the Callahan Garrity series reminds me so much of the Kinsey Milhone books written by Sue Grafton. Callahan is so funny and finds humor in most every situation.

I've also discovered a new author named Charlotte Hughes. Right now I'm reading What Looks Like Crazy. It it so funny! I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud while reading a book. I can't wait for her new book Nutcase, which is a sequel to What Looks Like Crazy. The problem is that is won't be out until next year. Darn it.

Memorial to Emma

One of my very favorite mystery writers is Sue Grafton. I have several others too, and from time to time I go to their websites to see what's new. Today I went to Sue Grafton's web site and saw a link for a Memorial to Emma.

It's obvious how much they loved this sweet cat. When I was reading the memorial, tears came to my eyes because it reminds me of our cat, Heckle, and of all of the joy he brings into our lives. Having lost cats and dogs to death before, I know exactly how they feel. I remember when Heckle's brother, Jeckle, died, I cried for days. I missed him so much and still do.

Eddie and I do not have children, by choice, but our children are our pets. Many pets that we have had over the years. Mostly cats, but we did have a dog once. Pets offer us unconditional love. I really don't know what else to say because I think that says it all.

Free Online Book

There is a great free online book that I'm reading right now on Barbara Bretton's web site. It's called Fire's Lady. It's a great free read.

Books I Have Read

I don't read very fast, but I love reading. I guess it's because I'm more of a hit and miss reader. I read at lunch time and usually at supper time when I'm eating and that' s about it. I just try to work it in as I have time. Sometimes, though, I get that one great book that I can hardly put down. Then when I finish it I'm so sorry that it's ended.
